Signing Off

I have a feeling this will be my last post for 2006. I don't plan to be online much when I'm home in Michigan - Not only does my wrist seem to be screaming a case of carpel tunnel, but I hope to either be out and about with friends or doing anything else besides sitting in front of a computer.

A crazy thing developed over the weekend. My Dad had to take another spontaneous business trip to Germany this week, and it turns out he heads home on Saturday as well. Whereas I fly via Amsterdam, he goes through Frankfurt. Amazingly enough, he's scheduled to land in Detroit 2 minutes before me. Maybe he'll be nice enough to give me a ride home from the airport :-)

So, what can I say. I really am looking forward to 2007. I think it has the makings to be a great year. 2006 had some highlights (a few good trips, becoming debt-free), but overall, just didn't live up to the lofty expectations I place on everything. However, I've adapted my mindset for my remaining time in Germany. 2007 is about experiencing things. It's about friends. It's about traveling. It's about not waiting or hoping for this event or that person. 2007 is simply about doing. That's why five trips are already booked for next year. Next fall will be exciting at any rate, when I relocate back to the U.S., most likely purchase a condo, and start things anew in what is hopefully a great city. Like so many of the previous, it will be a year of transition. But until then, I've got some unfinished business in Europe.

Ok, enough of all that. It's party time.

PS. For anyone who does stop in to read any or all of these ramblings, take care of yourself and have a great holiday season :-) See you on the flipside.

Dec. 1st

Support World AIDS Day

I found this "recipe" saved in one of my email folders from years ago... I think it's a great way to kick off the holiday season, if you know what I mean!

Christmas Cake Ingredients:

1 cup of water
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup of brown sugar
lemon juice
4 large eggs
1 cup nuts
1 bottle Jose Quervo Tequila
2 cups of dried fruit

Sample the Quervo to check quality. Take a large bowl, check the Quervo again, to be sure it is of the highest quality. Pour one level cup and drink. Turn on the electric mixer...Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon of sugar...Beat again.

At this point it's best to make sure the Quervo is still OK. Try another cup ... just in case. Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Pick the frigging fruit off floor...Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers, just pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the Quervo to check for tonsisticity.

Next, sift two cups of salt, or something. Who giveshz a shit. Check the Jose Quervo. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find.

Greash the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window.

Finish the Jose Quervo and kick the cat. CHERRY MISTMAS!
